EA$Y MONEY: College Football Week 2

After an amazing opening weekend, college football returns.. We fared well last week, going 5-2. I have 7 more picks for week 2:

#15 TCU (-7.5) v. Arkansas

TCU had a subpar season opener against South Dakota State, but managed to pull away late for a 59-41 win. This is a rebuilding year for the Horned Frogs, but coach Gary Patterson will have them prepared for a mediocre Arkansas team that narrowly escaped Louisiana Tech at home in their opener.

Navy (-175) v. Connecticut

Connecticut is rebuilding this year, and required a last minute field goal to edge out a victory at home last week against Maine. Navy beat UConn last year 28-18 in Connecticut. Look for the Midshipmen to get an easy win at home against the Huskies.

Cal (+7) @ San Diego State

Cal looked good in their season opener against Hawaii, as new quarterback Davis Webb passed for over 400 yards and 4 touchdowns. I expect Cal has more talent than San Diego State, an average Mountain West team with not nearly the recruiting power. I'm surprised the Aztecs are favored here. I expect Cal to cover spread easily.

#1 Alabama (-28.5) v. Western Kentucky

This was an easy pick. Alabama just destroyed USC 52-6 at a neutral site... you think they won't eclipse 28.5 against Western Kentucky? The Hilltoppers beat Rice last week 46-14, but that was Rice. This is Alabama, the dominant force in college football. They might have a new starring cast, but it looks like they haven't lost a step.

#11 Texas (-28.5) v. UTEP

After watching the Longhorns play in person last week, I can confidently say that Texas football is back. The longhorns have a new swag, and they are far too talented for a team like UTEP to compete. Look for the quarterback tandem of Shane Buechele and Tyrone Swoopes to build upon their strong debut and run up the score against the Miners.

Tulsa (+28) @ #4 Ohio State

Ohio State is definitely the better team, but Tulsa is nothing to scoff at. The Golden Hurricane return the bulk of their starters from last year, and are coming off a 45-10 trouncing of San Jose State. Look for Tulsa to keep the game close.

UL Monroe (+47) @ #14 Oklahoma

UL Monroe sucks, but 47 points is a lot to spot any team. Oklahoma showed they aren't as good as we thought they were in their loss to Houston. I'm taking the Warhawks here with the spread.
