We had a solid day yesterday going 2-1. Here's how each bet played out:
Australia (+170) $$$$
It still baffles me that Australia was the underdog in this game. They were clearly the better team and it showed. Serbia kept it close though, and actually went into the fourth quarter ahead by one. But the Australians absolutely dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring their opponents 33-17 and winning the game by 15 points.
Patty Mills and Matthew Dellevedova are probably the best backcourt combination outside of the Americans, and they proved that last night combining for 49 points against the Serbians. They will provide a real test to the US tonight, and it should be a great game to watch.
U.S.A. (Over 107.5) $$$$
The US had me nervous about this one early. They got off to an atrocious start, tying the Venezuelans in an entire quarter of basketball 18-18. But, they came through in the end, running the score up to 113 and cruising to an easy victory.
Everyone made plays, but Paul George seemed to be the standout for Team USA. He was wet from three and added this vicious dunk at the end of the game
Team USA plays Australia tomorrow, their first real test of the tournament.
France (Under 85.5) XXXX
The French hit 88 against China, eclipsing 85 with a Tony Parker jumper with less than a minute remaining. The French had four players score in double digits and had a great night from deep, shooting 46%. Tough loss and unlucky night for this bet.
