The South Carolina-Clemson Rivalry started almost one hundred years before I was born. The 121 year old rivalry has been packed full of close games, chokes, brawls and tons of shit-talking. There was no better shit talker than The Ole Ball Coach at USC, Steve Spurrier.
Unfortunately, after at 2-4 start to the 2015 season Spurrier resigned and the Gamecock limped their way through the final six games, only winning one and ending up 3-9. Many South Carolina fans questioned and criticized the Ole Ball Coach for not finishing out the season and playing Dabo one last time, I think he knew Clemson was going to win so maybe he stepped down to avoid going out on the bottom.
After the 2015 season South Carolina hired Will Muschamp, former Florida head coach and Auburn defensive coordinator. In terms of the football team, it should not be hard for Muschamp to improve in 2016 and clean up Spurrier's mess. Off the field in press conferences, especially during rivalry week, Muschamp will have big shoes to fill. Muschamp took no time to start talking a little shit to Dabo.
If this Muschamp-Dabo interaction is a preview for future interactions South Carolina and Clemson fans are in for a entertaining couple of years.
