Here's five things you may have missed:
1. Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Piazza headline this year's class to Cooperstown.
I will admit that I don't watch much baseball, but Ken Griffey's swagger was undeniable. "The Kid". Everything about his style had an it factor that made you want to be him. He was the Michael Jordan of baseball. And Mike Piazza, one of the best slugging catchers of all time. Piazza and Griffey were first ballot all the way.
2. Chris sale cuts up throwback jerseys?
So Chris Sale cuts up his throwback uniform because they aren't comfortable? Weird story here. The White Sox have been in a tail spin since their 23-10 start to the season, going 25-40 since that point. This incident just adds more fuel to the rumors that their ace is currently on the trading block. I couldn't imagine him staying around there much longer after this. Definitely something to keep an eye on. And make sure you don't leave an pinstripe clothing around Chris, he doesn't like when you do that and he will cut them up.
Sale has since been suspended for five days and will have to pay a fine of $250,000 ($9.5 million a year contract) and $12,500 for the jerseys. Not the greatest of decisions.
3. U.S. Basketball already dominating
Without Lebron, Curry, Westbrook, Harden, Davis, Paul, Lillard, Leonard, Wall, Aldridge, Drummond, Griffin, Beal, Hayward, and I guess Love, the United States Basketball team is easily ride through the Olympics and get there Gold. As if it were a formality. I don't even understand why they have the tournament. USA has one 64 straight, 64. There last loss was in 2006. That's a decade ago. Just let us have the Gold now, spare Pau and Marc Gasol the time and efforts in receiving the Silver.
In their two exhbition games thus far, USA beat Argentina 111-74 on Friday and beat China 106-57on Sunday night. It's so fun rooting for the USA basketball team. Too easy.
4. Kyle Busch wins his fifth in a row with win at Brickyard
Shout out to Nascar here. Kyle Busch has just been tearing up the tracks recently, winning five straight cup series tournaments and his second straight at the Brickyard. I hate everything about Kyle Busch, but damn does he have a smokeshow of wife. Dude's the ulgliest guy ever and he scored an 11. Nascar man, Nascar.
5. Rio Update
-Russians have to prove innocence in order to compete
-The Olympic village has been deemed "unlivable"
-10 suspects arrested for planned terrorist attacks
Nothing new here, should be a great olympics! Let the games begin
